RAMSEY SERENDIPITY

After yesterdays naughty bit of graffiti(I just shoot the facts, like them or not) I thought a nice pretty little pic would redress the balance. To all those people who haven't read the blog header and what the blog is all about and left very negative comments, try reading it properly. I say I will show all sides of the town, as it is whether that be good bad or indifferent. Today we have the good, the pretty, through rose tinted leaves!

Poyll Dooey Nature Reserve, has a series of nature trails meandering through it. I decided to follow one of these and came across these very vivid rich red leaves on a recently planted sapling. The sky seemed to be one enormous dirty white blanket of cloud, so I knew that the reds would pop out against it. Just how white the backdrop would be I didn't realise as the camera had been on the wrong ISO. When I uploaded I could see the white was completely bleached out. Normally I don't favour this look, but I just went with it and now don't mind the image. Serendipity and photography really do go hand in hand sometimes.

So have you had a serendipitous moment with your camera?

Lovely photo today. Sounds like you got hated on a bit for your post yesterday. No worries, always fun to be provocative. Good for you.

Great color & lovely shapes against the white sky - you are right! I count on serendipidy ALL the TIME.
It was fun to read your write-up & comments on your yesterday's po_ting. Notice how "anonymous" opinions pot, ah sorry, pop up. Good for you for posting ALL about Ramsey.

Manxie Cat and IOM resident, funny that both of them don't blog, i have found that the nasty and negative comments come from people who post Anonymous or don't blog, these people should try this blogging thing and see how brave they are when it them in the firing line, keep up the excellent and at time controversial work.

The leaves look like what we call a Red Maple which takes forever to grow and for that reason is not favored by homeowners. I like it because it is hard maple and grows slow.

I like the colour of the leaves and I like the shapes of the leaves.

I like your images and I especially like your words. I admire the way you back down to no-one!!

It is important the you keep doing and blogging what YOU want. It is important for you - it is important for us.

cela rend bien sur ta photo. J'ai déjà fait toute une série de photo, en me trompant sur le mode (j'étais en mode Tv (vitesse) ) et toutes mes photos étaient trop sombre (presque noire) ;o)
it makes good on your photo. I have already made a series of photo, to deceive me on the way (I was in TV mode (speed)) and all my pictures were too dark (almost black) ;o)

Ths looks more like something you'd see in autumn - must be a certain kind of plant, right? I have blood grass which is amazing - kind of reminds me of that!
Ciao

It is a maple isn't it? I have a maple the same tone.

I like the nice crisp detail of the leaves in front - with the translucence and veins. The white background actually helps me focus on the leaves.
Since I still don't know an f-stop from a bus stop, I'm using the auto settings, and I always get serendipitous surprises - good and bad. :-)

This shot reminds me of the tree in the front yard of the home I grew up in. It was beautiful in the summer, though more purple than red like this. I love trees.

Ah now that is a beautiful colour against a typically British sky. Excellent shot. Great angle.
